Wise Words From Some Wise Persons

There have been many people who have left a mark on the history that still shines like gold. They have written their names with diamonds and these are sparkling and motivating people to get rid of lives of mediocrity and achieve their dreams. So here is a compilation of some wise words from these wise men.

1. Steve Jobs

“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I have ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything, all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment of failure. These things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

2. Eberhard Arnold

“You have perhaps waited for years to be freed from some need. For a long, long time you have looked out from the darkness in search of the light and have had a difficult problem in life that you have not been able to solve in spite of great efforts. And then, when the time was fulfilled and God’s hour had come, did not a solution, light and deliverance come quite unexpectedly, perhaps quite differently that you thought? Hasn’t this happened to you, just as the child comes at his own time and no impatience or hurrying can compel it – but then it comes with its blessing and full of the wonder of the God? Hasn’t God’s help come to us sometimes in this way?”

This is for girls who have the tendency to stay up at night listening to music that reminds them of their current situation. Who hide their fears, hurt, pain and tears under the smiles, laughs and giggles on a daily basis. The girls who wear their heart on their sleeve. The girls who pray that things will work our just once and they will be satisfied. The girls who scream and cry to their pillows because everyone else fails to listen. The girls who have so many secrets but wont tell a soul. The girls that never win. The girls that stay up all night thinking about that one boy and hoping that he will notice her one day. The girls who take life as it comes, to the girls who are hoping that it will get better somewhere down the road. For the girls who love with all their heart although it always gets broken. To girls who think it is over. To real girls, to all girls: you are beautiful.

4. Louise Erdrich

“Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed or left or hurt or death brushes near or let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could.”

5. Patrick Henry

“There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free, if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending, if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon, until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained – we must fight! Repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of Hosts is all that is left us!”

6. Lynne Namka

“I have thought long and deep seeking out the Mystery of life. This I know: what brings peace and solitude above all is acceptance of what is. Gratitude for the tough lessons. Finding the resiliency within and living it. Balancing reasonableness with passion and being alive with purpose. Someone/something to love and grace to tie it all up in one package. This I know. This all is holy.”

7. E. M. Forster

“As long as learning is connected with earning, as long as certain jobs can only be reached through exams, so long must we take the examination system seriously. If another ladder to employment was contrived, much so called education would disappear, and no one be a penny the stupider.”

8. Nelson Mandela

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter, I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.”
