The worst nightmare of a girl is when she starts to lose her pretty tresses. You see your hair being washed off with water down the drain and there goes your heart. It is time that you stop wasting your parents or yours money on the salons. Look around in the kitchen and voila! You will have n number of things which can be used effectively for your hair. They can be used if you are suffering from hair loss, dandruff, roughness and many more problems alike. Proteins are the most important ingredient in one’s diet for the hair growth. Beauty salons actually charge you for the protein content in their hair masks. Try some for yourself. These remedies are totally natural so even if they will not work out for your hair type, you will not harm them in any way. Read on to get the locks of rapunzel!

  1. Egg pack

Egg is the best source of protein, be it for your hair or your body. The yellow part of the egg, yolk as we call it is rich in fats and proteins. They are very essential for the growth of hair. The yolk is extremely moisturizing. Some sites advice you to apply only the albumin part. But I use the entire egg as a pack. Take an egg or two, if you have long hair. Beat until the mixture becomes frothy. You can squeeze in some lemon to avoid the smell. Apply this mixture on your hair and scalp uniformly such that the entire length is covered with the egg. Leave this pack for about 20 minutes. Rinse it with shampoo. You will not like the smell but the after effects are what you are yearning for. See the difference yourself after first wash. Your locks will look shinier and smoother just like you wanted. Use this pack once in a week.

  1. Banana pack

If you have dry and frizzy hair and you hard it almost impossible to train them, then the banana pack is the right tip for you. Mash the banana either manually or mix it in a mixer. Add 2-3 drops of milk in it. Add some olive oil and mix it well. Apply the mixture on your roots. Leave the pack for about half an hour. Wash your hair first with lukewarm water. Bananas are hard to wash off. Hence lukewarm will help to detangle your hair. Do not use hot water as it will end up damaging your hair. After the shampoo wash, you hair will be softened and be much more manageable. It helps to fight damaged hair. You can also mix egg yolks with the banana pack.

  1. Yogurt

Yogurt is famous for its dandruff reducing properties. I did not know of this pack until college. I used to see girls applying yogurt on their hair which was supposed to be consumed! From then onwards, I started using yogurt. It is a great source of proteins and lactic acid. It is a great cleanser which unclogs the pores and helps in getting rid of the dandruff. The best part of using yogurt pack is that you do not have to mix any other ingredient with it. Take yogurt and start off with a hair brush. Leave till it dries. It usually takes more time and be sure that you have covered your nape area. It drips a lot and you do not want to smell like a milky baby! But do not use this pack during winters. You will catch a very bad cold! Of course I am speaking this from my personal experience.

  1. Aloe vera

Aloe vera is like the father of all medicines. You can use it almost anywhere and anytime and it will never disappoint you. Some of you might be aware of the magical benefits of this plant. One such benefit is the natural cleanser and moisturizer of hair. It helps to keep you scalp clean and works as a natural hair grower. If you do not want to buy aloe vera gel, then do not worry. Use the leaves; they are full of pulp which is required in making the pack. Wash the leaf after uprooting it from the soil. Yes, you will have to uproot the leaves. You will know this fact if you have closely observed an aloe vera plant. Chisel out the small thorns and the upper skin. Use a knife to take out the pulp. One spoonful is enough for one time wash. Mix this pulp with lemon juice and few drops of olive oil or coconut oil. It your hair oily, then do not use coconut or any other oil. Olive oils are best for oily scalp. Mix all the ingredients, apply it on the scalp and leave for about 40 minutes. Rinse well with a mild shampoo.
