Naturally Pink Lips

step 1 – exfoliate

As exfoliation of skin is a must for healthy skin,similarly this is one step which is ignored by many of us.Exfoliation removes the dead skin and stimulates blood flow ,making them soft and pink.

All you have to do is dampen your toothbrush and gently rub your lips with it for a minute .Remember BE GENTLE.You can also remove the dead skin by making a scrub of brown sugar,coconut oil and honey.Massage it gently and you will see the difference.


Step 2-TREAT

 The next step is to take care of them following a regime.Chapped lips look unattractive ,gives a bad impression ,makes you lose out on confidence and can also cause bleeding.So be it winters or anytime of the year ,give them tender,loving care  with these effective natural remedies-




Turmeric is known to lighten complexion and is filled with antibacterial properties.This herb also boasts the blood circulation when applied on lips and removes the tanning caused by the harsh Sun. Just mix turmeric in a tablespoon of milk and apply this mixture on your lips. Let it stay for 5 minutes and later wash it off. Repeat for two weeks.




Filled with vitamin C, lemons are known to have unlimited health and beauty benefits ,even for lips.Heat Lemon oil (1 tbsp), beeswax (2 tbsp), coconut oil (1 tbsp) for ten minutes in an oven, later add sunflower oil (2 tbsp) and the lemon oil and refrigerate. Apply on your lips once it cools.



Ever thought of using pomegranates for healthier lips?This is a very effective remedy for having pink lips,simply grind pomegranate seeds and mix them in a tablespoon of milk, now apply this paste on your lips twice a week to retain the pink colour.



The next remedy has been in practise in India since ages and involves the science of Ayurveda.Massage your belly button with mustard oil every night before you sleep for healthier skin and lips.Seems unusual ?Try it.


5.Cucumber and Aloe Vera



Another great way to reduce any darkness on your lips is to apply a bit of cucumber juice. Simply slice a cucumber, rubbing it against your lips to allow the juices to soak on. If you do this for five minutes each day, you can lighten dark lips to a beautiful pink colour.You can also add aloe vera gel to moisturize your lips.Cut an Aloe Vera leaf, and apply the gel that oozes out from it.



Potatoes are readily available everytime in our houses.All you have to do is slice it and rub the potato on your lips daily for a week.Get ready to be wowed.




You can  use some natural stains to colour them pink which are mentioned below-

1.Beetroot-I personally have been trying this for a while now and it is really effective.Apart from increasing the supply of blood in your body, rubbing a little beetroot just before you step outside your house will give a nice colour on your lips and the colour will also stay on for a good amount of time. .Also,it will make your lips sofft and healthy.



2.Rose petals-Don’t you just love their fragrance and beauty?They are also excellent lip stainers.Crush and grind a few petals and make a paste out of it.Mix this paste with cream or malai. Keep the paste on your lips for approximately for 10-15 minutes and wash it thereafter.The colour will stay on for a long time.Use this in place of lipstick.



3.Strawberries-The red juice of these berries stay on your lips when you rub them thoroughly on your lips.They’ll also help to whiten your teeth.Hence they are smile saviours.


Step 3-Moisturisation

Keep your lips moisturized always.Apply your favourite lip balm,petroleum jelly or go natural.Use coconut oil,olive oil or ghee to keep them soft and supple.You can also use honey in place of lip balm .Sweet isn’t it?


Step 4-Care

1.Do not lick your lips as this will make your lips more dry and flaky.

2.Quit smoking-Tobacco will kill the natural colour of your lips and make them dark in colour.So give up that cigarette to maintain good health and beauty.

3.Limit caffeine-Coffee and tea will stain your lips and make them dull.If you can’t resist that cuppa,use a straw for drinking these.

4.Protection from sun-Always wear lip balms that have an SPF in it.After all your lips are twice as thin as your skin ,they need more protection.

5.Remove all makeup at night if you are wearing any.Remove your lipstick with a makeup remover or simply use baby oil and cotton pads for clean makeup free lips.

6.Eat healthy-What we eat reflects on our body.Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink loads of water.Also eat nuts and seeds rich in Vitamin E for beautiful skin,hair and lips.
