Metabolism is the Way to Go!

Today, our major complaints are concerning our weight. We work out so hard and so diligently every day. Be it at the gym or at home. We curb our diet so much in the hope that just maybe, our weight loss efforts will show at least some result! But, it just seems very tough to lose a good amount of weight.

First of all, we have to realize that losing weight is all about science. If the number of calories lost is more than the number of calories that we consume, it results in weight loss. But, it is not as easy as this. This burning of calories depends on the physical activity under taken and also, the metabolism rate of our bodies. The rate of metabolism can be slow because of a number of reasons like inheritance and sedentary lifestyle. The good news is that you can trick your body into burning more calories by picking up a new routine, preferably in the gym. Weight training is known to boost the metabolism rate. If you want to burn more calories by exerting less effort, you should concentrate on increasing your rate of metabolism.

Here are a few ways to increase metabolism rate of the body-

1) Intensify It A Notch!

Pick up physical activities like running, swimming, or walking and when you walk, do high interval training 30 second intervals and then return to your normal pace. This way, you will consume more oxygen and your cells’ powerhouses will get the inspiration to work that they need! Another benefit of this is that this activity strategy helps in burning calories throughout the day. For this to work, you don’t even have to work out for a long time.

2) Watch The Nutrients!

Eat food that is known to boost the metabolism rate. The most important nutrient for the same is Omega 3 fatty acid. The compound is known to balance blood sugar and reduce inflammation, whereby help in increasing the metabolism. Some of the sources for omega 3 fatty acid are fish, walnuts and eggs.

3) Make Muscle, Reduce Fat!

Weight loss should ideally include loss of fat from the body and not the loss of muscle. Loss of muscle is what usually takes place by means of crash diets and all. Trust me, you don’t want that. Muscle weighs more than fat and it uses more energy too. By increasing the body muscle, calories are burned even on the days when you don’t hit the gym.

4) Antioxidants!

Antioxidants help in weight loss. They help in improving fat oxidation, body’s production of energy and studies show that the people who take in antioxidants lose more weight than the people who don’t. Some drinks rich in antioxidants or Catechin are Green Tea and black coffee. Drinking 2-8 ounces of green tea in a day, can increase the calorie expenditure by 90 calories every single day.

5) Don’t Cut Back!

When I say, do not cut back, I mean to say that do not slash all your calories from your diet. When calories are cut back, the body starts thinking that it can slow its process of metabolism as the body wants to conserve energy. You should eat according to your resting metabolic rate.

6) Enjoy Your Exercise!

Exercise benefits you, and you alone. You should be happy after exercising. When you get back from a robust work out but, come back to the previous resting metabolic rate, helps in losing extra calories even after exercising. You can increases your metabolism by increasing the difficulty of your work out routine.

7) Never Skip Your Breakfast!

Breakfast should be the most important meal of your day. You should have a rich nutrient breakfast that would ideally include oatmeal, almonds, berries, spinach, whole grain bread etc. This tasty meal is enough to wake up your metabolism rate! Your golden rule is: Never ever miss your breakfast. Be healthy all the way.

8) Compartmentalize!

Instead of gorging on food thrice a day, it has been proved that it is better to have six small meals. Each small meal should be around 300 calories each. This small habit keeps the metabolism rate in check. It also keeps you so full all day that you don’t get hunger pangs at midnight!

9) Say No To Trans Fat

Get this: Trams fat is bad for your body. It decreases the body’s ability of burning fat and also leads to insulin resistance and inflammation. All this destroys your metabolism rate and results in weight gain. So, yeah, no doughnuts!

10) Organic Is The Way To Go!

Eat fresh. Keep fresh. All the fresh fruits and vegetables keep the metabolism running all throughout the day. Eat healthy. Exercise. All these fresh fruits and vegetables are full of nutrients that are very necessary for your body. The right kind of eating makes the skin glow. Fresh fruits and vegetables are good for health in uncountable ways!

Losing weight is not that tough when you know how to go about it. You have to be smart. Knowing your body is another key. Be active and fit. If you eat right and stay active, I don’t think that there is going to be any other impediment in your weight loss wish!
