Today, one of the most common problems is depression and many of us are suffering from it. Depression is like a color, a darkish gray, and to overcome depression we have to start changing colors in our immediate surroundings. Depression emanates from Latin “De Pre mary” which means to press down so its all about elevation. We are told that depression is an illness and many people feel helpless when they are told that they have depression. It is very necessary to realize that depression is just a temporary energy block . It can be changed in less than one second if you want, once you find out the reason behind it. So, here are some reasons why you get depressed.
1. The Same Environment
Many of us, when we are in a bad mood, we may go to our bedroom but this habit doesn’t serve us. And we have to let go of whatever no longer serves us. Neuroplasticity psychiatrist Dr. Norman Deutsche talks of how the brain changes based on our experience, in a book called “The Brain That Changes Itself”. So once we see that more we form the habit of going to the same place again and again when we are depressed, more we are drown into depression. The more you can embrace nature, listen to the birds and the bees, it raises your spirit and you feel awesome. We have to see that where we place ourselves is affecting the whole biology of our body. So, instead of just being in a dark room, get some sunlight, go for a swim in the ocean and even skin dipping if you want.
2. Lack of Self Love
Not caring what other people think is the greatest form of self love. But many of us feel inadequate and feel like we are not good enough. To overcome depression we have to let go of pleasing everyone. We have to see that the greatest relationship we can have is with ourselves. Nobody can love us greater than we can love ourselves.
3. Negative Self Talk
Once we see that what we tell ourselves governs our belief systems and this governs our actions. Words and beliefs are so powerful. Everything we tell ourselves is part of a story. People who suffer from depression, they bring up their whole past but if that story is not serving them then it is not needed. Because Depression is suppression and it is happening in the here and now. You have to lose your mind and come to your senses and breath deep from the base of your spine. It is all about the journey instead of destinations. We just have to take total responsibility that we are creating our own reality.
4. Trying of Control others
When we can not control ourselves anymore then the external pressures can mold us in any way they want. We want to change how other people see us. It is beyond our control obviously but still we have to control our reactions to such things. All we have control over is how we respond to external stimulation and how we govern our own internal condition. Instead of controlling the world from the outside in, we have to start controlling the world from inside out.
5. Caring What Others Think
This one is one of the hardest thing to do because we really care what other people think of us. We want to please them and amaze them with our nature, talks and personality. When they reject us, we go into depression. The only way to free yourself from this is to have detachment from it. You don’t have to take yourself too seriously either and start having some fun. So, to move pass the depression we have to start moving more into our body and stop caring what others think of us.
6. The Perfection Trap
No matter what you do, how many trophies you get, it doesn’t matter. You won’t be perfect ever because this idea of perfection is just an illusion. It doesn’t exist. We can be excellent but not perfect. Its all about transcending the duality and you free yourself when you see that its the mirage of separation. The great thing is to enjoy whatever you are doing.
7. Unhealthy Diets
Changing you diet will surely change your mood. When you embrace more plant based diet then you can be free from anxiety. Many of us are barely breathing and only existing because we are not eating well. When you have heavy foods or deep fried foods, you feel fuzzy and dehydrated and that leads to frustration. When you become frustrated with something, you can easily get depressed. So, unhealthy diets are a healthy reason of depression.
8. No Exercising
We really underrate the importance of exercising, moving our body. The body is an instrument and we control whit instrument through our thoughts. Good thoughts come to good bodies. When you are not feeling well, you are going to have more negative thoughts. But when you are regularly exercising and taking morning walks, you feel refresh all day.
9. Doing What You Don’t Love
Most of us feel depressed because we know deep down in our hearts that what we are doing here, this is not what we have come here to do. Most of the people are doing something which their heart doesn’t resonate with. So, the more you move into your passion, you let go of depression.
